The Cantonal Hospital Aarau is one of the largest central hospitals in Switzerland. With around 5,000 employees, it provides outpatient and inpatient care to approximately 600,000 patients annually – using state-of-the-art infrastructure and offering a broad range of high-level medical services.
In everyday hospital operations, new requests for small and large procurements constantly arise: an additional centrifuge for the lab, a desk lamp for the assistant, a new patient bed for the ward, or another ultrasound device for the clinic – all the way to more complex projects like software solutions or renovations.
To ensure that all these technical needs are reliably and transparently recorded, assessed, and implemented, the Cantonal Hospital Aarau introduced a solution based on Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform in collaboration with Flumerics.
The digital solution enables all employees to submit technical procurement requests in a structured manner – transparently, traceably, and coordinated across disciplines. By integrating various departments, opportunities, risks, costs, and benefits can be comprehensively evaluated and efficiently transferred into a feasible implementation process.
With this project, Flumerics contributes to simplifying processes in healthcare and supporting well-informed decisions in the technical procurement process – so that time and resources reach where they are most needed: in patient care.
